Mykola Dovzhenko, the serviceman of Ukraine's Armed Forces did not make it out of the hospital after the combat wound that he had sustained in Donbas combat zone on January 9. The respective message appeared on the Facebook page of the 28th Detached Mechanized Brigade.
"We regrettably report that our serviceman deceased last night, being hit by an enemy bullet. At about 11 p.m., the enemy fired on our positions from small arms; this resulted in a grave wound for Private First Class Mykola Dovzhenko. Several hours later, the youngster deceased at a hospital. Mykola was 23. We sympathize with the close ones of the perished. Lest we forgive. We shall avenge him!", the message said.
On January 8, the enemy landed six attacks on Ukrainian positions. They did not open fire from the weapons of Minsk-banned calibers. None of the Ukrainian servicemen were killed immediately; however, Dovzhenko was wounded in combat and taken to a hospital.
