Over the past 24 hours, three soldiers of the Ukrainian government forces sustained injuries, due to the intense combat action in Donbas.

According to the Joint Forces Operation HQ, the enemy violated the ceasefire regime 24 times, using RPGs and heavy machine guns all over the division line. Militants attacked the Ukrainian positions near Troitske, Novoluhanske, Avdiivka, Mariinka, Berezove, and Opytne.

Over a half of these provocations occurred in the Mariupol sector, in Donetsk region.

On Tuesday, the enemy launched 20 attacks on the emplacements of government troops, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation reported. The enemy used mostly RPGs, heavy machine guns and small arms. In Luhansk region, skirmishes occurred in Krymske, Orikhove, and Novoluhanske; in Donetsk region, militants attacked positions near Opytne and Avdiivka. The most intense combat situation was observed in Mariupol sector, where Vodyane, Lebeydnske, Shyrokyne, Hnutove, Pavlopol, and Bohdanivka came under fire.

It is noteworthy that US Special Envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker said Tuesday that Ukraine had the right to open fire on its territory. He noted this in the interview commenting on the OSCE SMM reports stating that both militants and Ukrainian Armed Forces were shelling in Donbas conflict area. Volker added that 'over the past four years, the conflict has not fundamentally changed'.
