Ukraine's top diplomat Dmytro Kuleba called for broad EU sanctions against Russia

Holding the direct negotiations with Russian mercenaries of the self-styled "people's republics" of Donbas is a red line for Ukraine. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said so during the HARDtalk show at BBC News World.

"No. It's a red line we won't cross. The President is quite determined here. We all know it is Russia who attacked Ukraine", Kuleba said.

According to him, the Ukrainian side believes that the key to solve the conflict in Donbas is in Moscow, and Ukraine will not talk to the Kremlin's puppets.

Since the beginning of the day, April 27, illegal armed formations breached the ceasefire in Donbas conflict zone. Press office of Ukraine's Defense Ministry reported that on Tuesday.

In the area of Vodyane, Russian militants shelled Ukrainian positions from 120 mm mortars. In Opytne, they used the same weapon and the anti-tank missile launcher.

Not far from Mayorsk, the Russian occupants opened fire from heavy machine guns and small arms - twice.

Near Talakivka and Luhanske, pro-Kremlin mercenaries landed an attack, using grenade launchers of various sorts.

The Ukrainian troops opened fire in return.
