According to the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) counterintelligence service, a member of the illegal armed groups of the so-called "Donetsk People’s Republic" was sentenced to eight years in prison. The malefactor was detained while trying to cross the demarcation line covertly, as the SBU reported.

It is noted that in the course of the pre-trial investigation it was established that the detainee was a member of the tank unit of the militants, which was involved in shelling the positions of the Ukrainian military.

According to the investigation, he joined the ranks of illegal armed groups in 2016. He was appointed as a mechanic-driver of a tank of the Diesel group.

Currently, the Prymorsky District Court of Mariupol has found the attacker guilty of committing crimes provided for the attempt on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine, participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization, participation in the activities of armed formations not provided for by law.

On September 28, at about 17.30, a militant from the so-called "Luhansk People’s Republic" group of Donbas voluntarily surrendered at the position of one of the mechanized brigades of the Joint Forces.
