Donbas conflict: Militants violated ceasefire 10 times

The pro-Russian militants shelled the positions of the Ukrainian soldiers in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) ten times on February 28, as the Headquarters of the operation reported on Facebook.

“Since the beginning of the day, the enemy shelled the position of our troops 10 times, using the weapon forbidden by the Minsk Agreement 12 times and spending 111 shells and 122, 120, and 82mm mines,” the message said.

Thus, in the area of the “Skhid” task force grouping, the militants shelled the Ukrainian team sites seven times near Shyrokyne, Lebedynske, Vodyane, and Hnutove.

In the area of the task force grouping “Pivnich,” the militants carried three attacks on the positions of the Joint Forces Operation near Troitske village and near Shumy village and Volny farm.

The Ukrainian army sustained no losses as a result of these attacks.

As we reported, February 27, Russian-backed militants violated the ceasefire regime seven times, and four times they used Minsk-banned weaponry in Donbas conflict zone. One soldier was wounded as a result of the attacks.

As we reported earlier, pro-Russian militants from Luhansk region stated about the capture of a soldier of Ukraine’s Armed Forces. Allegedly, the militants shelled them and Ukrainian “saboteurs” retreated; one Ukrainian soldier became disoriented due to the concussion and was captured by the militants.

Ukrainian side refuted this information.
