It is too early to define the hostilities in Donbas as the frozen conflict; Ukraine’s minister of defense Stepan Poltorak said that in his interview with 1+1 TV channel.

‘Since they attacked our positions and inhabited localities 14,000 times in this year alone, and 400 civilians lost their lives in the period of time – one simply can’t say this conflict is frozen. It is very live – fights still continue,’ he said.

According to the Ukrainian official, the Cabinet has been working on strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. ‘New units are already shaped for further service in the most dangerous sectors of the combat area. We’ve got enough forces in the conflict zone, and enough troops at training centers and firing ranges, where they practice for more effective response to potential threats,’ Poltorak concluded.
