Donbas conflict: Eight ceasefire violations reported

The occupants used weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements

Over the last 24 hours, pro-Kremlin militants have violated the ceasefire in Donbas eight times, using 82-mm mines that are prohibited by the Minsk agreements. This was reported by the press service of Ukraine’s Defense Ministry.

Most of the shellings were observed in the Donetsk region: the militants attacked the positions of Joint Forces near Mariinka, Bohdanivka and Krasnohorivka. The applied anti-tank grenade launchers.

No casualties among the Joint Forces personnel have been reported.

As we reported earlier, militants of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic have handed over nine people to Ukraine as part of today's exchange near Horlivka and Mayorsk checkpoints.

Later, the Ukrainian side and the militants of the so-called Luhansk People’s Republic held the prisoner swap at ‘eleven for four’ formula.

According to Vice Prime Minister - Minister of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov, about 200 people are on the next exchange lists.

"Sometimes it happens so that this person is, unfortunately, deceased. Therefore, the exact number can be called only after verification, in particular the remains that are left after the fighting that began in 2014 with the aggression of the Russian Federation, the attack on Ukraine,” he explained.
