During the day of Saturday, May 20, the pro-Russian militants continued to fire at the positions of the ATO forces, using heavy artillery weapons, and from the beginning of the day they opened fire 16 times on the positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbas. This is reported by the press center of ATO HQ.

Thus, in Mariupol direction armed formations shelled the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the area of Shyrokine and Lebedynske from large-caliber machine guns and less powerful small arms. One of the Ukrainian strongpoints, Vodiane was fired from grenade launchers of various systems.

In the Donetsk direction, the most actively illegal armed groups used weapons against Ukrainian soldiers in the suburbs of Avdiivka. "In the morning the militants fired our defensive fortifications on this section of the contact line with 120-mm mortars, and at noon they used 122 mm artillery systems, later from time to time they fired at Ukrainian soldiers who defend this city from small arms and grenade launchers, "the report says.

At the Svitlodarska arc, the militants again fired at the Ukrainian fortifications near Novoluhanske from the arms of the IFV. To the west, near Zaitseve, they used 82-mm mortars. Nearby Verkhnetoretske enemy atacked the positions of ATO forces from large-caliber machine guns.

In Luhansk direction, militants used artillery systems of 152 mm caliber and 120 mm mortar shells attacking the main points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Troitske and Novozvanovka districts.
