Donbas: 120 mm mines hit Shyrokyne, Donetsk region

Since morning of May 22, Russia-backed militants have launched 48 attacks on Ukrainian positions

Military actions in the war-torn Donbas intensified, as pro-Kremlin mercenaries used heavy mortars to shell Ukrainian positions there. Two Ukrainian servicemen were wounded during these attacks.

Shyrokyne (Mariupol sector) went under fire from 120 mm mortars. Enemy tank shelled Vodyane several times. 82 mm mines hit Hnutove, while an enemy IFV opened fire in Pavlopol. Small arms and RPGs were used during attacks on Lebedynske, Chermalyk and Novotroitske.

The southern outskirts of Avdiivka, Donetsk sector, were shelled from 82 and 120 mm mortars. Enemy units used 82 mm mortars and AA guns to attack Ukrainian positions near Kamyanka. Verkhnyotoretske, Opytne and Pisky went under fire from mortars, small arms and RPGs. Zaitsevo and Mayorsk took fire, too.

In Luhansk region, hostile units used 82 and 120 mm mortars, automatic grenade launchers and small arms to attack Krymske, Troitske, Zolote and Malynove.
