Horlivka resident who participated in the combat actions in Eastern Ukraine on the side of the illegal armed formations was detained in Marinka checkpoint, as the press office of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service reported.

“Officers of Donetsk and Luhansk regional department of Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service prevented an attempt of a citizen who participated in the activity of the illegal armed formations to get on the territory beyond Ukraine’s control. It was a 19-year-old Ukrainian from Horlivka,” the message says.

As it was defined, the detained joined the illegal armed formations in 2015, before he reached 16. After a military training he was serving on a checkpoint between Horlivka and Donetsk till 2018. As the militants himself said, he was responsible for watch at the checkpoint, inspection of the vehicles and personal things, extortion of money from the travelers.

In late 2018, the detained robbed a private house in Horlivka. For this he was arrested by “DNR” police.  He was released after giving them a bribe in the amount of $151, 12. Then, he left to the Ukraine-controlled territory.

It was noted that the border guards detained 154 militants in 2018.
