“DNR” has given its guarantees of safety to Vodafone employees for repairing the system of mobile connection, as Darka Olifer, a press secretary of Ukraine’s representative in the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, wrote on Facebook.
She emphasized that Ukraine gave these guarantees weeks ago, on Feb. 12. She also said that the representative of mobile operator Vodafone was present at the talks, and he assured that the company would repair the necessary equipment.
The connection problems started in the occupied territories on Jan. 11. The militants informed that the cable which goes to Elenivka was damaged and, as usual, accused the Ukrainian Army. Vodafone was the last Ukrainian mobile operator in the occupied territories, so the local “operators” (that “nationalized” the equipment of other operators) raised prices for calling Ukrainian numbers as they basically established a monopoly.
