Prosecutor's Office of Donetsk Region

The "Finance Minister" of the terrorist organization "DNR" was accused of financing terrorism and attempting to change territory borders and state border of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of Donetsk region Prosecutor's Office.

It is established that a 38-year-old native of Donetsk Matiushchenko Kateryna in November 2014 voluntarily joined the ranks of terrorists and took the post of the so-called "Minister of Finance of the Donetsk People’s Republic."

While in office, the suspect realizes functions assigned to the "ministry" for financial control over the use of the so-called "budget funds of the DNR", through which the so-called "budget institutions of the DNR" are financed, including "the power block".

"Realizing that monetary assets in Donetsk region, temporarily uncontrollable by Ukrainian authorities, will be used by the militants, the suspect continues to work for terrorists, financing their terrorist activities," the prosecutor's office said.

Due to the fact that Matiushchenko is on temporarily uncontrolled territory, the charges were announced in absentia. The "Minister" is suspected of committing crimes under Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (financing actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of territory borders or state border of Ukraine) and Part 2 of Article 258-5 (financing terrorism).

Special pre-trial investigation continues.

As it was reported earlier Russia confirms that journalist Aseev was detained by “DNR” militants. Militants suspect the journalist of “crimes provided by “Criminal code of the DNR.”
