'DNR' commander killed in Avdiivka

Oleg Mamiyev, callsign Mamay, one of the militia commanders of the so-called 'DNR', was killed in action in Donetsk region. Russian and pro-Kremlin media, as well as his comrades in arms, confirmed this. 

According to various messages, Mamiyev deceased while on combat position in Avdiivka industrial zone (Donetsk region) on Thursday evening. His deputy Zakhar Prilepin posted this on Facebook, pointing out that the militant was killed by a grenade, fired from an automatic grenade launcher. 

'Mamay' served with the DNR since 2014; at first, he joined 'Vostok' battalion, then led the 15th international brigade of self-styled 'Donetsk People's Republic'.
