President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky came to Donbas after return from Japan. He stays in Zolote, Luhansk region for the second day as Interfax-Ukraine reported.
“In Zolote, the president communicated with local citizens and military to find out the attitude on the disengagement of forces,” the message said.
Last Checkpoint. No to capitulation group posted the video with the president, locals and military on Facebook.
The voice of the fighter who said to Zelensky “We are hospitable, sit down, let’s talk” is heard in the video. During the talk the president noted that people want the division of forces and it is necessary to do everything to stop the war.
“People want the disengagement. I understand what you talking about: we do not want serious mistakes, losses and so on. But I think that we should do everything to stop the war. But nevertheless there are our military, they are the main. And with all due respect for them, exactly they deal with the security situation. I believe in our military…You also fought and treat the army with respect. Exactly they are on the front line,” he said.
Then one of the volunteers noted that Ukraine, in fact, agrees on the truce with the terrorist organizations Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) and Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Zelensky responded: “I do not care with whom we will sign it; we need to return the territories and stop the murders”.
Another video shows the skirmish between the president and the same volunteer.
The military asked Zelensky whether he will meet the veterans on No to capitulation protests that took place all over Ukraine. “People demanded the meeting,” the military noted.
The president answered: “I am the president of the country; I am 42-yeas-old. I am not a loser. I came to you and said take away the weapon…I would like to see the understanding in the eyes but I saw a guy who decided that he sees some cluck and starts to talk on another issue”.
As we reported earlier, on October 1, the sides agreed on the beginning of the disengagement of the forces in Zolote (Luhansk region) and Petrovske (Donetsk region) during the Trilateral Contact Group session.
However, on October 9, the clash took place between the police officers, volunteers, and veterans who want to enter Zolote to prevent the disengagement of forces at the checkpoint in Kreminna, Luhansk region.
The Office of the President confirmed the delay in forces’ separation in the area of Zolote, which was supposed to start a week ago.
