Disengagement of forces in Donbas can create the preconditions for a meeting in the Normandy format. This was stated by the press-secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, Interfax-Ukraine reports.

Peskov also confirmed that Kremlin monitored Volodymyr Zelensky’s trip to the Zolote.

"We have been paying close attention (to Zelensky's trip to the Donbas, - ed.). Some of the dialogues (between Ukrainian leader and representatives of volunteer battalions) have highlighted the problems that have been present and have highlighted the source of these problems ... We hope that as long as President of Ukraine forces such units to execute their orders, we can talk about preparation for the disengagement of forces, which is an important part of the preparation for the Normandy Summit," Dmitry Peskov said.

As we reported earlier, President Zelensky came to Donbas after return from Japan.

Later the Joint Forces Operation HQ stated that people in the military uniform with whom President Volodymyr Zelensky communicated in Zolote, are not representatives of any of the security agencies or Armed Forces of Ukraine. They stay in the area of the Joint Forces Operation illegally.
