Zolote-4 village (Luhansk region), which is now under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is one of five parts of Zolote city. Kostyantyn Ilchenko, the Chairman of City Civil-Military Administration, informed Hormadske radio about this.
According to the Head of the Administration, earlier Zolote-4 had an unidentified status, as only a part of the village was under the control of the Ukrainian military.
“Combat confrontation were performed for these positions. For now, the population of Zolote-4 is in less danger as this territory is absolutely ours, the troops are set, Russian ones do not have such influence,” Ilchenko said.
He noted that around 800 people live in the village, yet the exact number of the residents is being defined.
“Anyway, the village is located in at the forefront and considering the flight distance of a mortar launcher, it will still remain in the killing zone. Yet, the “grey zone” got smaller. Zolote-4 is finally under the Ukrainian control,” the Head of City Civil-Military Administration said.
It should be noted that Pervomaisk (Luhansk region) occupied by the LNR (Luhansk People’s Republic) militants is located near Zolote. Besides, there is a same-name checkpoint in Zolote, which operation is being blocked by the illegal armed formations.
