Commeting on the information that the fighters of Kharkiv 93rd Independent Mechanized Brigade advanced about 1.5 km in the "grey zone" closer to Bakhmut highway, Defense Ministry Speaker Andriy Lysenko noted that Ukrainian forces are not conducting offensive actions, while brigade commanders may take decision to move strongholds, particularly in order to protect the lives of military officers.
"Ukrainian soldiers are not undertaking offensive action, not crossing delimitation line, which was defined by Minsk agreement," Lysenko noted.
He noted that due to constant shelling on areas, where Ukrainian forces are deployed, brigade commanders may move observation posts and strongholds, located on delimitation line, without violating the borders of the "grey zone".
"They are doing this to protect the lives of military personnel, improve combat positions in engineering plan. But active offensive actions or crossing of delimitation line do not take place. Ukraine is strictly adhering to Minsk agreement," Lysenko stressed.
Anton Myronovych, ATO HQ speaker also informed on air of 112 Ukraine TV channel that information regarding advancement of 93rd brigade inside the "grey zone" does not correspond to the actual situation.
"Ukrainian Armed Forces, other units engaged in ATO, are strictly adhering to the provisions of Minsk agreement. We are not violating the borders of "grey zone", as according to the accords, "grey zone" is demilitarized, thus the military units cannot enter the area," Myronovych said.
