Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense confirmed information about possible abuses during the transportation of bodies of the deceased Ukrainian soldiers. Preliminary inspection showed this, as the press service of the Defense Ministry reports.
“It has been found, in particular, that “the actions of certain officials imply a private interest in public procurement procedures,” the message says.
The ministry added that the liability of those involved in abuses will be decided after the audit of funds of the Office of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and military units.
As it was reported, one of the officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who serves in Donbas sent Yanina Sokolova documents, according to which, entrepreneur I. Tkachuk, who is registered in a hostel, provides funeral services at inflated prices. At the same time, the price of the service for the transportation of military bodies from Donbas home was three times higher than the real cost. The same entrepreneur has provided such services several dozen times.
