Yevhen Korostelyov, the Colonel of Ukraine's Armed Forces and the commander of Ukraine's 128th Mountain Assault Brigade posthumously received the 2nd-degree order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, a high-rank military award in Ukraine. This is mentioned in the decree of President Volodymyr Zelensky, released on the website of the Presidential Office.
Colonel Yevhen Korostelyov succumbed to combat injuries he had sustained in Donbas conflict on November 12. The officer stepped on a landmine as he and his comrade in arms examined the Ukrainian positions in Novotroitske, Donetsk region. Later, he died at a military hospital in Kharkiv.
Earlier, the Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that one Ukrainian serviceman was wounded due to military actions in eastern Ukraine on November 18. The enemy opened fire from grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms; the mercenaries landed 14 attacks on the Ukrainian positions.
