Not far from Vodyane, pro-Kremlin mercenaries opened fire from automatic grenade launchers and small arms.
Ukrainian forces opened fire in return.
None of servicemen of Ukraine's government troops were wounded or killed in action.
During the day, Ukrainian combat engineers cleared two hectares of the area from landmines and passed 33 explosive items for further safe destruction.
Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov considers it necessary to involve Poland and the United States in negotiations on Donbas.
"The participation of the United States under the new presidential administration, taking into account certain commitments under the Budapest Memorandum,and Poland, which will soon chair the OSCE, can induce Russia to sit down at the negotiating table and finally reach an agreement, and not just block all processes," Reznikov said.
