On November 22, Russian mercenaries landed four attacks on Ukrainian military emplacements in Donbas. One Ukrainian fighter sustained injuries in combat, reports the HQ of Joint Forces Operation. The authority specified that the man's health condition is satisfactory; he gets the necessary treatment.
In Popasna, the enemy opened fire from grenade launchers and heavy machine guns; 120 mm mines hit Lebedynske. In the vicinities of Prychepylivka, mercenaries opened fire twice, using the heavy machine guns and small arms.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of Ukraine used the American anti-tank missile system Javelin in the hostilities in Donbas for the first time on the record. Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov said so in an interview with the Military Times.
Russia has more than 92,000 troops amassed around Ukraine’s borders and is preparing for an attack by the end of January or beginning of February, the head of Ukraine’s defense intelligence agency said.
Such an attack would likely involve airstrikes, artillery and armor attacks followed by airborne assaults in the east, amphibious assaults in Odessa and Mariupol and a smaller incursion through neighboring Belarus, Ukraine Brig. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov explained.
“They want to make the situation inside the country more and more dangerous and hard and make a situation where we have to change the government,” said Budanov. “If they can’t do that, then military troops will do their job.”
