On April 1, pro-Kremlin militants attacked the positions of the Joint Forces in Donbas 15 times, using artillery systems of 152-mm and 122-mm caliber, 120-mm and 82-mm mortars, BMP armaments, grenade/rocket launchers, large-caliber machine guns and small arms. This was reported by the press service of the Defense Ministry.
Most of the attacks were observed in the Luhansk region. The Ministry officially reported 11 shellings. Speaking on the Donetsk region – four attacks were recorded.
As a result, three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded. The victims were taken to the military-medical institutions, they are being provided with medical care.
As we reported earlier, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry believes that Donbas militants perceive the global threat of the COVID-19 as a favorable time for escalation.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine shares the concerns of our French and German partners about the lack of progress in the peace settlement process in Donbas amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which were expressed in a joint statement that was made the foreign ministers of these countries on March 30," the message reads.
