On April 22, Russian mercenaries landed seven attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas. Press office of the Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that on Thursday evening.

In the vicinities of Pivdenne (Donetsk region), the enemy opened fire from 120 mm mortar and anti-tank cannon; near Zaitsevo, they used 82 mm mortars to shell Ukrainian positions. 120 mm mines and anti-tank grenades hit the emplacements near Krasnohorivka. Near Shumy, the occupants opened fire from anti-tank missile launchers. In Pisky and Mayorske, the enemy fired under-barrel grenade launchers, RPGs and small arms.

The HQ of Joint Forces Operation confirmed that one Ukrainian serviceman was fatally wounded in action during the day. The soldier died of a shrapnel wound.

On April 22, Russian troops amassed near northeastern borders of Ukraine began to withdraw - back to their bases. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed this step, saying it would cut the tension between Kyiv and Moscow.
