Day in Donbas: Russians fire with Minsk-banned weaponry, one Ukrainian soldier dies

On March 4, The Russian militants violated the ceasefire regime six times, and eight times thy used Minsk-banned weaponry, in Donbas conflict zone. As a result of the attack, on Ukrainian soldier died. The Joint Forces Operation (JFO) HQ reported this on Facebook.

It should be noted that the enemy used 99 shells of 125 mm, 122 mm, 120 mm and 82 mm calibers. Besides, the Russian soldiers have fired from the tank for the first time since this year.

In the East operational group action zone, the enemy fired five times from tanks with 122 mm artillery system, 120 mm mortar and anti-tank guided missile near Lebedynske settlement, twice with 120 mm mortar near Vodiane village, with 122 mm artillery system near Shyrokyne village and with 82 mm mortar and heavy machine guns near Pisky settlement.

In the North group area, the enemy attacked our positions with 120 mm mortar near Zaytseve town.

“As the result of the attack by the Russian militants, one Ukrainian soldier died. Our subdivision responded to the attack by opening fire as well. The enemy’s casualties have been checking yet”, - the report said.

Earlier, one of the attacks of Russian occupants resulted in the death of a Ukrainian fighter. The name of the deceased serviceman was not disclosed. 

Maksym Prauta, the spokesman of Ukraine's defense ministry reported this on a briefing on March 4.
