On November 17, Russian mercenaries landed one attack on Ukrainian positions in Donbas combat area. The press office of the HQ of Joint Forces Operation reported that on Tuesday.
The enemy opened fire in Novotroitske, using rocket-propelled grenade launchers. The armed provocation did not pose any threat to the lives of Ukrainian defenders, so they did not return fire.
None of the Ukrainian citizens were killed or wounded in action.
Earlier, the Foreign Ministries of Germany and France issued a joint statement, in which they demanded Russia and the militants to open checkpoints on the Donbas demarcation line. The text of the statement was published on the website of the German Foreign Ministry.
"We call on Russia and the separatists to reopen all existing crossing points on the contact line in the Donetsk region without delay. Thousands of people wanting to see doctors, draw pensions or visit relatives are currently prohibited from crossing the contact line. The conflict must not be allowed to continue to be waged at the expense of the population, and the divides must not be allowed to widen," the statement informs.
