On September 17, Russian mercenaries landed one attack on Ukrainian positions in Donbas. The press office of the HQ of Joint Forces Operation reported that on Thursday.
"So, hostile troops used small arms to land provocative fire near Novohryhorivka towards our positions. The unadjusted fire did not pose any threat to Ukrainian warriors. Our defenders did not use arms in return", reads the message.
No losses were observed among Ukrainian troops.
The representative of the Russian Federation in Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) Boris Gryzlov apologized for his words about occupied Donbas territories being “their separate territory.” At the demand of the head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Leonid Kravchuk, he acknowledged that certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts (ORDLO) is Ukrainian territory. This was stated by a source close to the talks, as Interfax-Ukraine reports.
According to Kravchuk, such statements by Gryzlov contradict the norms of international law, international treaties of Ukraine, the Constitution of Ukraine, as well as the norms of the UN and the OSCE.
Gryzlov acknowledged that “ORDLO is Ukrainian territory and that the Minsk agreements are designed to restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
