On February 17, Russian mercenaries did not breach the ceasefire in Donbas combat area. The press office of Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that on Wednesday.
"No ceasefire violations were observed along the entire division line," reads the message.
During the day, Ukrainian combat engineers cleared six hectares of the area from landmines and passed 217 explosive items for further safe destruction.
As wereported earlier, pro-Kremlin mercenaries have captured more territory in Donetsk and Luhansk regions than the area envisaged in the text of Minsk agreements.
"We've been trying to sort out the way Russian envoys treat the territory of temporarily occupied districts of Donbas. Because the territory that the Russian illegal armed formations de-facto captured is 1,400 kilometers bigger than that prescribed in Minsk agreements," Serhiy Harmash, the representative of Ukrainian delegation in Minsk talks group wrote on Facebook.
According to him, it remains uncertain what kind of area is affected by Minsk agreements. Representative of the Russian delegation in the Minsk group insists that this question is just as important as the definition of the warring sides.
