Day in Donbas: No ceasefire violations today

January 7 in the Donbas conflict area passed without violations of the ceasefire. As of 18:00 on the Nativity of Christ day along the entire line of delineation no provocations were reported, informs the press center of the antiterrorist operation headquarters on its Facebook page.

The Headquarters emphasizes the need for peace and tranquility in connection with the Christmas holidays and reaffirms the commitment to the implementation of sustainable ceasefire reached at the meeting of the Tripartite Contact Group.

"Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Donbas conflict ensure the implementation of all measures to maintain the armistice along the entire line of delineation of the parties and strictly adhere to the Minsk agreements," the headquarters said.

As reported, over the past day, on January 6, the militants violated the truce three times. The wound was received by one Ukrainian soldier, now he is in a satisfactory condition.

Since midnight on December 23, a new, pre-holiday, armistice came into force. The parties agreed on it during the meeting of the Tripartite Contact Group in Minsk on December 20. At the same time, the sides reaffirmed their commitment to the Minsk agreements. Later it was reported hat the militants continue to violate the truce, firing Ukrainian positions.
