In the vicinities of Vodyane, the enemy opened fire from 82 mm and 120 mm mortars, grenade launchers and small arms. Near Talakivka, the militants fired from stationary grenade launchers, near Avdiivka - from under-barrel grenade launchers.
The Ukrainian troops returned fire in all mentioned cases. In Luhansk region, however, it was quiet during the day.
None of Ukrainian soldiers were wounded or killed in action.
Ukrainian combat engineers cleared four hectares of area from landmines, and passed 44 explosive items for further safe destruction.
Earlier, the so-called Interior Ministry of Donetsk People’s Republic stated that after the abolishing of curfew during the New Year holidays, people with Ukrainian passports will be detained as ND reported.
“The Interior Ministry of Donetsk People’s Republic confirmed that during the abolishing of curfew on New Year holidays, they will detain people who have Ukrainian passport as a document for identification,” the message said.
Such a decision was explained by the impossibility to ‘check the legitimacy’ of the Ukrainian document.
