Day in Donbas: Militants violated ceasefire four times

Occupants did not use weapons of prohibited calibers

Since the beginning of this day in Donbas, Russian-backed militants have violated the ceasefire four times and didn’t use weapons of calibers, prohibited by Minsk agreements, as the Joint Forces Operation general Staff reports.

Militants fired at the defenders of Krasnohorivka and Pavlopil, using guns fire and anti-tank grenade launcher in the Donetsk area.

In the Luhansk area, militants also violated the silence regime twice. With easel anti-tank grenade launchers, they fired at positions near Orehove; from hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers - near the Vilnyi Hutir.

As we reported, the Prosecutor's Office of Luhansk region opened the criminal proceeding due to forcible issuance of the so-called passports of Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) to the citizens of the temporarily occupied region

The forcible passportization of the citizens of Ukraine was qualified as the violation of the laws and customs of war.

The prosecutor’s office noted that such actions are of forcible nature and despite the demands of Article 52 of Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War dated August 12, 1949, and Article 75 of Extra protocol dated June 8, 1977, lead to the violation of the constitutional rights and freedoms of the citizens of Ukraine in temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk region.
