Militants fired on positions near Novotoshkivske. At the same time, they used 120 mm caliber mortars and fired 8 minutes.

The Ukrainian side did not suffer from shelling.

As we reported before, on late Sunday and early Monday, Russian militants used artillery to land provocative attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas. 20 shells hit the positions of Ukrainian forces there, the HQ of the Joint Forces Operation reported.

"The occupants opened fire with the 122 mm field artillery. The enemy fired 20 shells on the defenders of Kondrashivka Nova," reads the message.

The Ukrainian defenders were ready for the attack, as they knew that the enemy would make a salute to "celebrate February 23," the Day of Defender of the Motherland that is regularly marked in Russia.

The Ukrainian military who participate in the Joint Forces Operation claimed that they never opened and will never open any fire on the dwellings of peaceful civilians, and such criminal actions are typical only for Russian occupant forces.
