Since the beginning of the day on July 1, Russian-backed militants violated the ceasefire four times, while using 120 mm caliber mortars prohibited by the Minsk agreements. The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports it.
In the Luhansk area, not far from the village of Orikhove and Travneve, occupants fired at the Ukrainian military from grenade launchers of various systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms.
Near the Pisky area, 120-mm mortars and automatic easel grenade launchers were used. At the approaches to Avdiyivka militants used 82-caliber mortars, hand anti-tank grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms.
As a result of the hostile shelling, one military man of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received combat injuries. He was taken to a military medical institution and provided appropriate medical assistance.
As we reported before, the UN Security Council approved a resolution providing for an immediate ceasefire in all armed conflicts and for a humanitarian pause in connection with the coronavirus pandemic.
“100 days after the UN Secretary General’s appeal for a global ceasefire during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Security Council today finally adopted the long-awaited resolution,” Nikolenko said.
