On Saturday, January 19, the Russian occupant forces violated the ceasefire in Donbas conflict zone four times. No losses among the Ukrainian military were reported during the current day. This was stated on the JFO press center's Facebook page.
The enemy opened fire with small arms on the positions of our troops near the village of Stanytsia Luhanska. They also fired at the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the Volny settlement.
The hostile troops fired at the positions of the Ukrainian military near the village of Pisky, using grenade launchers. The militants also used automatic grenade launchers and small arms to attack the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the village of Shyrokyne.
The situation in the Donbas conflict area remains under the control of the Ukrainian military.
Earlier, Martin Sajdik, the OSCE representative in the Minsk Contact Group on Donbas conflict settlement said that they did not come out with a proposal to send a joint OSCE and UN mission to Donbas, according to his comments to Deutsche Welle.
According to him, the OSCE did not uphold sending the joint OSCE and UN mission to Donbas.
Thus, Sajdik refutes the statement of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, according to which at a meeting of the tripartite contact group in Minsk, OSCE representatives proposed to create a joint peacekeeping mission with the UN in Donbas.
At the same time, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in Ukraine reported that 'they welcome any additional measures that would help reduce the existing threats'.
Earlier, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin intended to discuss Russian aggression in Kerch Strait, Donbas issue and release of the Ukrainian prisoners during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
“My priorities will be Azov and Kerch Strait, Donbas and release of our political prisoners and hostages. I want to show those, who will be present there that today Russia violates everything that was possible and will only raise the stakes,” Klimkin said.
He also added that the closed sessions with frank discussions would take place, despite a few open meetings during the forum in Davos.
