On April 28, Russian mercenaries landed eight attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas. Press office of the Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that on Wednesday evening.
Near Krasnohorivka, militants fired from 120-caliber mortars, heavy machine guns and anti-tank grenade launchers, prohibited by the Minsk agreements.
In the area of Vodyane, Russian militants shelled Ukrainian positions from 82-caliber mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and small arms. Not far from Hnutove, the enemy fired from heavy anti-tank and automatic heavy grenade launchers.
In the vicinities of Svitlodarsk, the occupants opened fire from large-caliber machine guns and anti-tank grenade launchers. Besides, pro-Kremlin armed gangs planted POM-2 landmines near Vodyane.
None of Ukrainian servicemen were wounded or killed in action.
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov stated the necessity to avoid war in Donbas. However, Moscow is not sure on the Ukrainian side.
Lavrov noted that it is possible and necessary to avoid war.
“If it depends on us and militia, as far as we understand their principal approaches, it is possible and necessary to avoid war,” he said.
