On July 1, Russian mercenaries landed 17 attacks on positions of Ukrainian forces in Donbas. One of Ukrainian soldiers was wounded in combat. The HQ of Joint Forces Operation reported that on Facebook.
In the vicinities of Avdiivka, the enemy opened fire from 122 mm cannons, 82 mm and 120 mm mortars, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. Near Pavlopil, illegal armed gangs fired grenade launchers and heav machine guns. Not far from Zaitsevo, Russian mercenaries attacked Ukrainian positions from heavy machine guns.
120 mm and 82 mm mines hit the vicinities of Shyrokyne. In Opytne, militants opened fire from under-barrel grenade launchers and small arms. 120 mm mortars were used in the attack on Talakivka and Vodyane.
The wounded Ukrainian warrior is in moderately grave condition; he's at the hospital now.
As we reported earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in a telephone conversation with Pope Francis discussed the situation in Donbas and expressed hope for cooperation in resolving the conflict.
Also, during the conversation, Zelensky thanked Pope Francis for his constant prayers for peace and tranquility in Ukraine. He also said that our state lost more than 14,000 people in the war in Donbas, and 1.5 million Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes.
