Ceasefire in Donbas

On June 17, Russian mercenaries landed three attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas combat area.

According to the Joint Forces Operation HQ, the enemy opened fire from 120 mm mortars in the area of Pisky.

Not far from Luhanske, illegal armed formations of pro-Kremlin militants fired grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. In Vodyane, they used stationary anti-tank grenade launchers and automatic mounted grenade launchers. 

No Ukrainian defenders were killed or wounded in action.

Meanwhile, the Kremlin is concerned about talks on a possible plan for Ukraine to join NATO and says Ukraine's membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization will be a "red line".

"This is something we are watching very closely, and this really is a red line for us - as regards the prospect of Ukraine joining NATO," Peskov told the Ekho Moskvy radio station.

Peskov said that Moscow and Washington agreed at the Geneva summit that they needed to hold talks on arms control as soon as possible.
