On January 28, pro-Kremlin militants landed two attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas. The Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that on Thursday.

Both skirmishes took place in Vodyane, Donetsk region. Illegal armed units of the Russian Federation opened fire on Ukrainian positions, using 120 mm mortars, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns, and small arms.  Ukrainian forces opened fire in return. The OSCE observers received a report about the ceasefire breaches.

Ukrainian troops took no casualties.

Earlier, the SBU, Security Service of Ukraine announced that a Russian mercenary, the founder and leader of the Pyatnashka terrorist organization is now on the wanted list. The man is also suspected of torturing captured Ukrainian servicemen. The press office of the Main Department of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions reported that on January 28.

Counter-intelligence and investigators of the SBU found out that In 2014 when the war in Donbas began, the Russian citizen founded and led the illegal armed formation called "Pyatnashka International Brigade". They fought on the side of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic. 
 
Currently, the militant known by the alias of Abkhaz is hiding either in the occupied part of the Donetsk region or the non-recognized Republic of Abkhazia.
