Illegally armed groups shelled Ukrainian positions 11 times in Donbas conflict area since midnight till 18:00 on December 16th. This was reported by the Ukrainian Army HQ press center in Facebook.

"In total, since midnight, Russian-terrorist forces attacked Ukrainian positions 11 times. In almost every case, Ukrainian defenders responded adequately to the occupants’ attacks," the report said.

In Luhansk area, militants from mortars of various calibers and infantry weapons fired at the positions Ukraine’s Army in the area of Troitske and Krymske. In addition, the enemy from small arms shelled on the outskirts of Travneve.

In Donetsk sector, according to the information from the headquarters, it was tense in Pryazovia. Here the terrorists fired from 120-mm and 82-mm mortars in Hnutove and Pavlopil areas, and from the IFV arms near Vodyane. "The stash was hidden close to the contact line, and there were a MON-50 and OZM-72 mines inside, as well as a mine fuse MVE-72 and three anti-personnel mines PMN-2,” the statement says.
