Criminal case opened due to attack of cargo vehicle in Granitne, Donetsk region

The case is qualified as a terrorist act

Prosecutor’s Office of Donetsk region investigates the attack at the cargo vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces by the Russian hybrid troops as a terrorist act, as the prosecutor’s office reported on Facebook.

“Under the procedural direction of Volnovakha Prosecutor’s Office, the investigators of Chief Department of the National Police in Donetsk region provide the pretrial investigation of the criminal proceeding qualified as a terrorist act,” the message said.

The law enforcers specified that on July 10, about 3:30 p.m. the illegal armed formations of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) shelled military vehicle of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with an anti-tank guided missile at the exit from Graninte.

“As a result of the attack a 21-year-old senior sailor-spotter died and a 32-year-old operator of unmanned aerial systems squad sustained numerous shrapnel wounds of chest, abdomen, lower limbs, and neck,” the prosecutor’s office reported.

The pretrial investigation in this case continues.

As we reported, one Ukrainian serviceman died as the anti-tank guided missile hit the body of the cargo vehicle in the south suburbs of Granitne, Donetsk region. Another serviceman is moderately wounded.

Later President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that attack at the car of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Granitne village is an attempt to disrupt the Minsk process and endanger the resumption of negotiations in Normandy Format.
