Crimean Tatars began the campaign aiming to de-occupy the Russian-annexed Crimea. Refat Chubarov, the leader of Mejlis of Crimean Tatars said that in his interview to one of Ukrainian outlets.
‘We started to collect signatures under the petition, which we created at the session of executive council of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars. Our goal is to gather one million signatures under the document before December 10, the International Day of Human Rights, when we finish the campaign. Next, we will send the petition to the respected international organizations,’ Chubarov said.
The action is supposed to turn attention of the international society to what is going on in the occupied Crimean and Donbas.
‘We want to persuade everyone that without solving the burning problems that emerged due to Russia’s direct military aggression against Ukraine, the world would not be able to go on,’ the head of the Mejlis said.
