Court sentences DNR militants to 12, 10 and 8 years in prison

The court announced the verdict in the case of armed burglars - the group of supporters of 'Donetsk People's Republic' (DNR), who robbed civilians and local enterprises in Pokvorsk, Donetsk region, in 2014. Andriy Lysenko, the spokesperson of Prosecutor General's Office reported that on Facebook.

Two residents of Pokrovsk joined DNR in May 2014. They came to Donetsk, received guns and ammunition and returned to Pokrovsk. Then, they met another five accomplices and started robbing people. From July through December 2014, they seized property and funds in the general amount of USD 7,500. The criminals broke into houses, threatened people with guns and used tortures to make the victims give them the money.

The perpetrators had an arsenal of firearms and camouflage, which the police seized.  

The organizer of the criminal gang was sentenced to 12 years behind the bars; four of his sidekicks got from eight to ten years in prison. One of the criminals was submitted to a psychological expertise; another one remains at large.
