The Krasnogvardyisky District Court of Dnipro released Ukrainian Darya Mastikasheva, suspected of high treason, from custody, and she is being prepared for an exchange. Lawyer father Volodymyr Rybin on Facebook announced this.
He said that the court approved a guilty plea agreement in exchange for release “for serving” without confiscation of property and termination of criminal proceedings.
Since August 2017, Daria Mastikasheva and Oleksandr Karatay have been suspected of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 28 (“Committing a crime by a group of persons”), Part 1 of Article 111 (“High Treason”), Part 1 of Article 263 of the illegal handling of weapons of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are charged with actions aimed "to the detriment of the sovereignty and information security of Ukraine," namely, that in 2017 they arranged for the departure of former Ukrainian military, combatants in the Donbass, to Russia under the pretext of working at construction sites.
As we reported, the exchange of imprisoned individuals between Ukraine and the militant-held Donbas will take place on December 29. The venue will be Mayorsk entry-exit checkpoint in the Donetsk region.
