20:00, 17 February 2017

The Ukrainian MP Semen Semenchenko interfered with examination of people with weapons at the checkpoint in Bakhmut, Donetsk region. This was reported by the press service of National Police in Donetsk region.

"Policemen stopped the bus at checkpoint in Bakhmut about 1 p.m. Vehicle contained about 20 people wearing camouflage, some of them had masks. The transport was accompanied by one of Ukrainian people’s deputies," police informed.

Hunting carbine "SKS", which had the visual signs of modification, was found inside the vehicle during checks on individuals and examination of the transport.

Investigation and operational police team was called to the scene, but the MP took the weapon in his car and left, not giving law enforcers a possibility to carry out necessary investigative actions.

Police’s message does not clarify the name of the people’s deputy, but Ukrayinska Pravda informs that it was Semen Semenchenko, the MP from Samopomich political party.

Semenchenko, in turn, commented on this message on Facebook page: "I will do everything I can to help my comrades protect Ukraine here at the blockade. You can write whatever you want about me. I don’t care. Because I know who the Real people are and who is right here."
