The condition of three servicemen, who were injured when a mortar launcher exploded in Rivne firing range, was stabilized, as Oleksandr Poronyuk, the Head of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry Regional Media-Centre, said, Ukrinform reports.
“The surgeons of Lviv military hospital stabilized the conditions of the military who sustained serious injuries from a mortar launcher explosion, all three are conscious, in a steadily critical condition,” Poronyuk stated.
In their turn, the medical workers note that the injured require some other surgeries and a long rehabilitation.
As we reported earlier, a dreadful incident occurred in Rivne region, northern Ukraine, with three Ukrainian army servicemen killed and nine more wounded. According to Ivan Arefyev, the head of the press center of the Armed Forces HQ, the accident occurred at about 6 a.m. The tragedy occurred during the tactical exercise on the firing range in Rivne region, where three soldiers deceased and nine suffered wounds of various degrees of severity.
Later, the Defense Ministry specified that the death toll climbed to four. The authority confirmed that the reason was the violation of safety measures. According to Hennadiy Moskal, Zakarpattia region governor, the deceased men served with the 128th Detached Mountain Infantry Brigade; another four sustained wounds, he said.
