A civilian resident of occupied Donetsk was wounded in the shelling on Thursday. Novosti Donbassa news agency reported that on April 22.

Local illegal armed formations reported that some shooting was observed on Thursday morning. In particular, an attack occurred in the area Trudivska coal mine in Donetsk; a 60-year-old man was injured during that incident. He suffered a head wound and had a surgery

Earlier on April 22, head of the Russian Defense Ministry Sergei Shoigu charged the General Staff, commanders of military districts and Airborne Forces to begin the withdrawal from Ukraine's borders back to their respective bases. Shoigu called the relocation of the majority of the Russian troops to the southern borders of Russia an ‘unexpected’ check.

“I believe that goals of the unexpected check were completely reached. The troops showed the possibility to provide reliable protection of the country. Due to this, I made a decision to finish verification activities in Southern and Western military districts,” Shoigu said.
