In the afternoon of February 23, Russian mercenaries opened fire at civilians in the area of Khutir Vilny, Luhansk region. An unarmed elderly man was killed in the attack, reports the HQ of the Joint Forces.
"A man born in 1947 ended up under fire of Russian occupant troops. A mine exploded in his yard at about 5.25 p.m., which inflicted multiple severe injuries on him", reads the message.
Military medics reached the man; they applied the first aid, and then they took him to a hospital. However, the patient passed away due to the injuries.
The Russian mercenaries shelled the vicinities of Khutir Vilny in Luhansk region, and also landed mines from afar.
"Such obnoxious actions of armed formations of the Russian Federation once again confirm their interest in further escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine, and once again confirm systematic ignorance of teh reached agreements", the HQ said.
