The court of Chernivtsi (western Ukraine) sentenced a militant of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic to 12 years in absentia. The lady served as the commander of an artillery division. This is reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.

"On the materials of counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine Shevchenko district court of Chernivtsi sentenced in absentia to 12 years in prison the commander of the artillery division of the "DNR"," the message says.

It is noted that a native of Donetsk with a call sign "Korsa" in 2014 joined the illegal armed formation "the 3rd separate motorized rifle brigade "Berkut", created on the basis of the so-called "group Bezler". Since then, the former employee of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs has been actively involved in terrorist activities.

As commander of an artillery battalion with the rank of "colonel of DNR troops," she directly led the shelling of positions of Ukrainian Armed Forces and volunteer military formations with BM-21 "Grad" multiple rocket launchers near Ilovaisk, Debaltsevo, Vuhlehirsk, Marynivka, Avdiivka (all in Donetsk region), which resulted in mass deaths.

The court found "Korsa" guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 258-3 ("Participation in a terrorist group") of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced her to 12 years in prison.The convict is now hiding in the temporarily uncontrolled territory of the Donetsk region; she is on the wanted list.
