The work of the checkpoint "Maiorske" in Donetsk region is still suspended due to the regular attacks as the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported on Facebook.
"Currently, due to the regular attacks, the functioning of the checkpoint "Maiorske' is stopped and the check operations of the persons and vehicles do not take place there. The State Border Guard Service appeal to the citizens with the request to consider this information when they plan the trips. Other checkpoints are open in accordance to the summer schedule and work in the normal mode," the message said.
As we reported on August 24, Maiorske checkpoint in Donetsk region suspends its operation because of the regular shelling. Reportedly, Maiorske checkpoint was shelled from sniper rifles today on August 23. One of the units where the border officers were conducting the pass of the citizens through the inter-entity boundary line was damaged during the shelling.
Also, the division line checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska will be closed from September 2 to 7, due to the ongoing maintenance works. The respective agreement was made during the session of Minsk contact group on August 22.
