The ceasefire started in Donetsk and Luhansk regions on July 21 at 00:01 am according to the Protocol on the results of consultations of the Trilateral Contact Group (Minsk Protocol). This was reported by the press office of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO).
HQ of the JFO notes that the truce is supposed to stop shelling from both sides, using any kinds of weapons.
However, the side will get a reply in case of violation of the agreement.
“The subunits of the Joint Forces will be replying to the hostile shooting from Russian occupational subunits in case of violation of ceasefire and production of armed provocations and bombardments of our positions and peaceful settlements. According to the Ukrainian legislation in effect the Joint Forces has the right and are obliged to provide life and health security of servicemen, citizens and prevent the loss of the territory,” the HQ of the JFO informs.
We recall that the representatives of the Trilateral Contact Group came to an agreement to kick off the ceasefire since July 21. It is stated in the document that any shooting is forbidden. The responsibility for bombardment and public claiming of the sides about ceasefire is also stated in the document. The agreement is not limited in time.
