Car explosion in Kyiv: owner under suspicion

For now, the detainee is kept in the temporary confinement ward

The detained owner of the car which exploded in Kyiv is under suspicion, as Andriy Kryshchnenko, the Head of Kyiv Police, said on air of 112 Ukraine.

“This man was informed about the suspicion under two articles – illegal possession, including explosive devices, and unintentional grave bodily harm. He was detained under the article №208 of Ukraine’s Criminal Code. He is in the temporary confinement ward. The investigators will file an application to the court to decide on the preventive measure for the detainee,” Kryshchenko noted.

As we reported earlier, four children were hospitalized as a result of the explosion of the car in the Sviatoshyn district on June 14.

The Law Enforcement Officers figured out that the ground zero of the explosion was the car that was parked for a long time nearby one of the buildings.

According to preliminary information, four children aged between 5 and 11 got into the car to play there. There they found the thing that exploded. As a result of the incident, a boy and 3 girls got hurt. Yana Nerush, the Deputy Chief of Police Communications of Kyiv reported live on 112 Ukraine.
